Glass Veranda Supplied and Installed in Kent
This client had enjoyed a wooden pergola above his patio for some years, although this structure had never provided any rain protection for barbecues, and its weathered wood had now softened creating maintenance. A glass veranda seemed the perfect solution, at which Elegant were asked along to design and quote. The new veranda was to be less wide than the pergola which had always looked a little too dominating on the building.
The replacement needed to provide rain shelter, be built of weatherproof materials, and be maintenance free. These criteria require modern construction, yet its appearance must look in-keeping with such a traditional Kent building. The client also required this glass veranda be of quality manufacture, it should have a high wind-load rating, and be installed strong – including a lead flashing seal to the house wall, this due to high wind at such an exposed hilltop location with driving rain sometimes penetrating his lime mortar.
Taking care with design and proportion the result looked picture perfect, this glass veranda blending into its rural Kent surroundings and in better proportion. Mr Dance later commented why he chose Elegant; for our long established knowledge and expertise.
